Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are a Belgian EDM DJ duo composed of brothers Dimitri Thivaios (Dimitri Vegas) and Michael Thivaios (Like Mike). In 2015 and 2019 they were ranked #1 in the poll conducted by DJmag magazine. They are currently #5 in the poll conducted in 2021 1 They entered in 2011 ranking #79.

 

Dimitri Thivaios, better known as "Dimitri Vegas", born on May 16, 1981, began making his first forays as a DJ at the age of 14. In his early years, he performed several shows at smaller venues and was the resident DJ for BeatFM radio. Due to a lucky coincidence, he left Belgium in 1999 and started touring Europe. He lived in Mallorca, then in Halkidiki, Greece, before moving to Ibiza in 2003, where he was a resident at major clubs such as Privilege and Space.

 

He then returned to Mallorca, passing through the Canary Islands, before settling in Zante, Greece, where he was a resident at Amnesia and The End in 2006. In the fall of 2006, he returned to Belgium to team up with his brother, Michael Thivaios, better known as "Like Mike", born December 2, 1985, to produce his first release 'La Cocaine / Eivissa 2007'2 and his remix of Push's anthem "Universal Nation" released in 2007 by Bonzai Records.3

Their 2008 remix of "Work that body" caught the attention of Axwell, who gave them a hand and entrusted the remix of "Rotterdam city of love" by Abel Ramos for his label Axtone. In 2009, Dimitri & Mike made an edit together with Swedish House Mafia of "Leave the World Behind".4 In 2011 they have also remixed for artists such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and LMFAO. In 2013 they released a video titled "Bringing Home the Madness", there were many speculations, like it was going to be an album, but the duo was presenting a trailer for the concert that took place at the end of the same year. In early 2014 the brother and sister duo Dimitri and Mike received 2 Beatport Awards for 'Best Track of the Year' for Mammoth and 'Artist of the Year'. They received gold certification in Belgium for their singles such as 'Find Tomorrow (Ocarina)' and 'Momentum'. In July 2014, they managed to break their first single into the UK singles chart thanks to the co-production "Tremor" with Martin Garrix, ranking #30.5.

 

In April 2015, they released the single "The Hum" alongside Ummet Ozcan. This remained for several weeks at the top of the download chart of the digital portal Beatport and they also achieved their first number one in the singles chart of the Flemish Region of Belgium.6

 

In August of that same year, they achieved their second consecutive number one in Belgium thanks to "Higher Place",6 a single that features the voices of Ne-Yo and Like Mike himself, being his first intervention as a vocalist.7 This will be part of what will be their debut studio album.

 

On November 12, 2016 in an interview in Germany they confirmed that the album will remain on "stop" as they prefer to release more singles and free music for fans.81

Since 2013, every year at the end of December there is a concert organized by them called "Bringing The Madness" (Antwerp, Belgium) with different renowned DJs and world renowned artists such as Steve Aoki, Oscar & The Wolf, Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, Ne-Yo, Lost Frequecies, Steve Angello, Quintino, Ronnie Flex, Boef and Hardwell. However in 2018 they decided to end the "Bringing The Madness" theme with a new one: "Garden Of Madness".

In July 2018, during the Tomorrowland festival, they released the second part of "Summer Of Madness" with singles and collaborations in free download. A year later, in 2019, they released a great collaboration called "Instagram" together with DJ and Producer David Guetta, Latin singer Natti Natasha and Daddy Yankee, which got more than 30 million plays on Spotify in 1 month. Around the same time, they would bring back "Summer Of Madness" with 11 free tracks featuring collaborations with Quintino, John Christian, Bassjackers, Paris Hilton and many more artists. During a set at Tomorrowland 2019, Dimitri Vegas announced that Netherrealms Studios would release a Sub-Zero appearance from the "Mortal Kombat 11" video game featuring his face in mid-August 2019.


 

In September 2019, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike's "Smash The House" discography enters the world of eSports with the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive "SMASH Esports" team which is composed of professional eSports players kRYSTAL, Maikelele, STYKO, zehN and Maden, led by Devilwalk as coach.
