Olyseum was founded in 2016 by accomplished computer scientist and neuro-scientist Carlos Grenoir (CEO), and world renowned computer security consultant Kevin Mitnick (Chief Security Officer), along with former FC Barcelona players Carles Puyol, Andrés Iniesta and Iván de la Peña.
The platform was built upon a shared vision to create a more fan-centric network of engagement.
Olyseum has already brought almost 40 stars to the platform, which will be unveiled over the course of 2021, including motoGP icons, top fashion models, 5-star Michelin super-chefs, music legends and mega YouTube personalities.
Just like fans fuel the celebrity economy, OLY tokens fuel the Olyseum platform. OLY tokens can be used to access rewards, offers and discounts in Olyseum’s exclusive marketplace, for advertising campaigns, and can be used to access exclusive interactions and experiences with the stars themselves.
In addition to OLY tokens, fans can also earn credits in the form of OLY ‘Medals’ based on their levels of activity and engagement. These medals can be used to access exclusive experiences with Olyseum’s roster of stars.
From a Swiss regulatory and legal perspective, the OLY Tokens are qualified as a “utility token” as such term is defined in the FINMA Guidelines on ICO issued on February 16, 2018. FINMA defines utility tokens as “tokens which are intended to provide access digitally to an application or service by means of a blockchain-based infrastructure”. OLY tokens can exclusively be used to access rewards, offers and discounts in Olyseum’s exclusive marketplace, for advertising campaigns, and can be used to access exclusive interactions and experiences with the stars themselves.
